How Product Submissions Work

Overview

Anyone can submit an AI tool to be listed on AIDIRECTORY. You choose a listing tier, fill out the form, and we take it from there - reviewing, writing up the listing, and publishing it.

Listing Tiers

When you submit a tool, you pick a listing tier. Each tier determines how fast your tool gets published and what perks come with it:

Free submissions are processed in the order they're received. Paid tiers skip the queue - Standard gets you listed within 24 hours, and Premium within 12 hours with maximum visibility.

What You Need to Submit

Visit our Submit page and provide:

• Tool name - the official name.
• Website URL - the tool's homepage.
• Note - any additional context about your tool (optional).

You need to be logged in and accept our terms to submit. If you chose a paid tier, you'll be directed to Stripe checkout after submitting.

What Happens After You Submit

1. We Check the Basics

Before anything else, we verify:

• URL is accessible - the website loads and returns a valid response.
• No duplicates - the URL is compared against existing listings. If the tool is already listed, we'll let you know.
• Favicon - we grab your site's favicon for the listing.

2. We Review and Research the Tool

Our team reviews every submission. We look at the tool's website, check that it's a legitimate product, and gather the information needed for the listing.

3. Content Is Written

We write the listing content for each tool:

• Description - a factual overview of what the tool does.
• Tagline - a short line capturing the tool's value.
• FAQs - common questions and answers, based on research.

4. The Tool Is Classified

Each tool is assigned:

• Categories - up to 3 categories based on what the tool does.
• Tags - up to 8 tags for finer-grained classification (features, technology, business model, etc.).

5. Quality Check

Before publishing, we run the listing through a quality checklist covering things like:

• Name formatting.
• Description length and accuracy.
• Working website URL.
• Valid favicon.
• Correct categories and tags.

If anything doesn't pass, we fix it before the listing goes live.

6. Publishing

Once everything checks out, the tool is published. When a tool goes live:

1. It appears on the site.
2. Alternatives are computed for it and related tools.
3. The submitter receives a notification email.

Paid tier submissions are prioritized - Premium listings go live within 12 hours, Standard within 24 hours, and Free listings are published as capacity allows.

7. Verification Outreach

After publishing, we reach out to the tool owner to:

• Confirm the listing information is accurate.
• Invite them to claim their listing.

We follow a five-touch outreach sequence: initial contact on the day of publishing, then follow-ups after 5, 12, 20, and 30 days.

Tracking Your Submission

From your dashboard, you can track your submitted tools and their status:

Duplicate Prevention

We prevent duplicate listings by normalizing URLs before comparing them. This strips the protocol (https://), www. prefix, trailing slashes, and query parameters - so https://www.example.com/ and http://example.com are treated as the same URL.

If you submit a tool that's already listed, we'll link you to the existing listing instead of creating a duplicate.

Summary

Submit your tool, pick a tier, and we handle the rest - review, content, classification, quality checks, and publishing. Free listings are processed in order; paid tiers get priority turnaround and additional perks like do-follow backlinks, content updates, and featured placement.
