Netflix is adding a Discover tab on TVs that suggests shows and movies based on your mood, time available, and other themes. It is rolling out in the US.
In short: Netflix is rolling out a new “AI Discover” tab on TVs that suggests shows and movies based on what you feel like watching.
Netflix announced a new tab called “AI Discover” that is designed to help people find something to watch without endless scrolling. It is described as a place to test new ways of picking content.
The first feature in the tab recommends titles based on themes tied to your mood and situation. Examples include “something light,” “scare me,” “family movie night,” and “quick watches.” Think of it like walking into a video store and telling the clerk what kind of night you are having, then getting a short shelf of options.
After you pick a theme, Netflix shows matching recommendations, and you can narrow it down with more specific themes or tap “something different” to start over. Netflix is also adding a “Tune Your Recommendations” button next to each title, so you can save suggestions you like or tell Netflix not to recommend certain titles again.
Netflix says the feature uses an “intelligence layer,” meaning software that reacts to what you choose in real time and learns from it over time.
AI Discover is starting to roll out in the U.S. for people using Netflix in English on supported TVs. Users who have it will see a “Discover” button with a red gem icon and a “New” label.
Netflix’s library keeps growing, and many people spend too long hunting for something to watch. If this works, it could make choosing faster and feel more tailored to the moment, not just your past viewing history.
