Google has brought its Dreambeans app to India. The experimental app uses your Google account activity to create illustrated personal stories in 13 local languages.
In short: Google has launched its experimental Dreambeans app in India, adding support for 13 Indian languages.
Google expanded Dreambeans to India, its first market outside the U.S. The app is available on Android and iOS.
Dreambeans creates illustrated stories based on a user’s activity across connected Google services like Calendar, Gmail, Photos, Search, YouTube, and Gemini. Unlike many AI apps, it does not require you to type a request, it generates stories on its own using what it can “see” from your connected accounts (like a scrapbook that auto-fills itself).
In India, Dreambeans supports 13 local languages, including Hindi, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Bengali, plus English. However, users can only pick one language at a time for the stories, and the app cannot mix languages, which could be limiting in places where people often switch between languages, such as Hindi and English.
Google said it chose India because there was strong interest from Indian users and because many people there use multiple Google services. A Google product manager also said users can choose which services to connect, disconnect them later, and delete Dreambeans data inside the app.
Dreambeans is a reminder that some AI features work best when they can use personal data, but that also raises privacy questions. For regular users, the main tradeoff is simple, you may get more personal, useful stories, but only if you are comfortable letting the app access parts of your Google account history.
