Apple says some Apple Intelligence tools will reach users in China via an iOS 27.3 beta on Nov. 4, with a wider release planned for December.
In short: Apple says iPhone users in China will start getting some Apple Intelligence features through an iOS 27.3 test version next week.
Apple announced that Apple Intelligence, its set of AI tools built into iOS, is coming to China with iOS 27.3. The company said an iOS 27.3 beta, which is a public test version people can try before the final release, is scheduled for November 4. Apple also said the full iOS 27.3 release is planned for December.
This rollout in China does not include Apple’s newer Siri AI upgrade. Instead, Apple says it will bring earlier features. These include notification summaries, which shorten long alerts into a few lines, and real-time translation, which converts words from one language to another as you go.
Apple also lists writing tools for rewriting and proofreading, visual intelligence, and a feature that can remove objects from photos (like erasing someone from the background). Apple says it worked with Alibaba to add support for its Qwen chatbot in some experiences. A chatbot is a program you can talk to in text, like customer support chat, but automated.
For people in China, this means iPhones should soon offer more built-in help with reading notifications, writing messages, translating text, and editing photos without downloading extra apps. It also shows how big tech companies often adjust AI features by country, based on local rules and partnerships.
