Anthropic combines Claude Chat and Cowork into one interface

What happened

Anthropic said it is merging the front end (the part you see and click) for Claude Chat and Cowork into a single interface. The company says the old setup confused some users, because they had to pick the right tab for each task.

With the updated design, users can access Chat, Cowork, and Artifacts in one window. Artifacts is Claude’s workspace for interactive outputs, like a shared canvas where Claude can build and update things as you watch. Anthropic also said Claude Design, a feature introduced in April for creating websites and prototypes, will work across the whole app.

Anthropic is also adding new features aimed at making presentations and documents. Users can ask Claude to create and edit slide decks, present them, and download them as a PDF or PowerPoint file. For documents, a new Docs feature lets people draft sections, ask questions, and leave comments, then share the result with a link and edit it on a phone.

The rollout starts with Claude Pro and Max subscribers on web, desktop, and mobile over the coming weeks. Anthropic said it plans to bring the features to free and team tiers later.
