SpaceXAI launches Grok Bot beta for workplace tasks

In short: SpaceXAI has launched a beta version of Grok Bot, an AI service that can act like a “teammate” and do multi-step work inside your apps.

What happened

SpaceXAI introduced Grok Bot, an “always-on” AI agent service. An AI agent is a tool that can take actions for you, not just answer questions (like a helper who can open apps and click buttons).

SpaceXAI says Grok Bot runs on its own cloud-based computer, meaning it works in an online workspace that is not your personal laptop. The bot can sign into the apps, tools, and websites you already use, then carry out tasks that take several steps. It is meant to return when the job is finished, or when it needs you to approve something.

You can assign work by messaging the bot from a phone or desktop, “like a colleague,” according to the company. SpaceXAI says you can run multiple bots at once, and even have one bot manage others. The company also says bots can share context with each other and keep track of how you usually do tasks, including your writing style.

Grok Bot is available in beta starting today on desktop and iOS. Access is limited to SuperGrok Heavy, Cursor Ultra, and Cursor Teams Premium subscribers, and SpaceXAI says teams and enterprise users can join a waitlist.

Why it matters

Tools like this aim to reduce busywork, such as sending outreach emails or updating systems, by letting software do the clicking and copying. But it also raises a simple tradeoff, you may need to trust the bot with logins to your online accounts, which can affect privacy and security if something goes wrong.
