Instagram says its Edits app now includes an AI assistant that uses your account data to suggest captions, hooks, audio, and video ideas.
In short: Instagram is adding an AI helper to its Edits app that gives creators feedback and suggestions based on how their posts perform.
Instagram announced that its standalone Edits app will now include an AI “creative assistant.” Instagram says the assistant can look at information from a creator’s Instagram account and suggest what to change.
Creators can ask questions like what is trending, why one video did well and another did not, or which posts connected most with their audience. The assistant uses stats such as likes, views, shares, and “retention” (how long people keep watching a video, like noticing where viewers stop paying attention).
Instagram says the assistant can spot patterns over time and offer advice that is harder to see from numbers alone. It can also suggest content ideas, ways to grab attention at the start of a video, caption options, trending audio tracks, and even help with writing a script.
Meta says the feature is free up to a limit. People who use it a lot may need a paid Meta One subscription for more access.
This is part of a bigger shift where platforms are not just showing creators their stats, they are also telling them how to adjust posts to get more engagement. YouTube recently announced similar AI tools for creators.
For everyday users, this could affect what you see in your feed. If many creators follow the same advice from the same platform, posts may start to look and sound more alike, like everyone using the same playbook.
