Google says Google TV is getting more Gemini features, including tools to edit photos with voice and create short video clips from text prompts.
In short: Google says Google TV is rolling out new Gemini features that let people edit photos and create short videos from simple voice or text prompts.
Google announced a new set of AI features for Google TV, the software that runs on many smart TVs and streaming devices. Gemini is Google’s AI assistant, and Google is adding a “Create” button inside the Gemini area on Google TV.
Two tools are at the center of the update. One is Nano Banana, which can change photos based on a spoken request, like swapping outfits or changing the background (like telling a very fast photo editor what you want). The other is Veo, which can generate short video clips from scratch or animate a still photo by describing a scene, for example asking it to make a person “moonwalk in space.”
Google Photos is also getting updates on Google TV. Gemini-powered search will help people find specific pictures faster, like “vacation” or “birthday party,” without scrolling for a long time. Google is also adding a “Remix” option to restyle photos, plus “Dynamic Slideshows” that turns photo collections into animated screensaver slideshows.
Google is also adding a short-form video row to the Google TV home screen called “Short videos for you,” starting with YouTube Shorts.
The new “Create” features are rolling out first on Gemini-enabled TCL TVs in the U.S., and Google says support for more devices will come later.
For regular TV owners, this makes the living room screen more like a shared creative canvas. It could also change how people browse family photos and how much short video content shows up on the TV home screen.
