Anthropic expanded its Claude for Startups program with a free year of Claude Team for up to five users and $1,000 in API credits for eligible startups.
In short: Anthropic expanded its Claude for Startups program, giving eligible startups a free year of Claude Team and $1,000 in credits to build with Claude.
Anthropic announced an updated version of its Claude for Startups program. The company says it wants to support early-stage companies that build products using its Claude AI models.
Startups accepted into the program will get one free year of Claude Team, which is Anthropic’s paid plan for groups. The offer covers up to five premium seats, meaning up to five people at the company can use the team plan.
Anthropic is also adding $1,000 in API credits. An API (a way for software tools to talk to each other) lets a startup connect its own app to Claude, like plugging an appliance into a wall outlet. The program also includes access to Claude Marketplace, where companies can build plug-ins (small add-ons that extend what a product can do), plus virtual office hours with Anthropic’s Applied AI team.
To qualify, a company must have been founded in the last five years or have received funding in the last two years. Interested startups can apply on the Claude for Startups page.
Many startups want to add AI features but the usage costs can add up quickly as more customers use the product. By offering a free team plan and credits, Anthropic is lowering the upfront cost for small companies to test ideas and build early versions, which can lead to more everyday apps using Claude behind the scenes.
