Israeli startup 42AI raised $62.5M and is testing an AI system at brokerages to estimate how traders may react in fast markets.
In short: Israeli startup 42AI has raised $62.5 million and says its AI can estimate what a person is likely to do next, starting with stock and crypto trading.
42AI, a company based in Israel, announced it is no longer operating in secret and has raised $62.5 million in seed funding. Seed funding is early money used to build a product and hire a team.
The company says it is building a “behavioral world model,” which is an AI system that tries to simulate how someone makes decisions. Instead of giving a single answer, it gives probabilities, like a weather forecast that says there is a 70% chance of rain.
42AI says it is already working with 10 large financial brokerages. It uses data a brokerage already has, such as trading activity and customer support calls, to build a behavior profile for each customer. The company says it does not need personally identifiable information like a name, but it still links actions from the same person across time.
42AI claims 98% accuracy for some market predictions, but it also says this figure means trading activity fell within a predicted range, not that it guessed every trade correctly. The company also shared an F1 score of 0.8 to 0.85 for predicting trading direction and volume. F1 score is a way to measure how often a system is right while avoiding both false alarms and missed signals.
Tools that predict behavior could help brokerages manage risk during volatile markets, but they also raise a basic question about fairness. If a company can anticipate what customers might do, it could potentially use that knowledge to benefit itself. 42AI says it relies on regulation, monitoring, and an internal ethics committee, but it did not clearly explain what would stop misuse by customers.
