Explosive Media, a pro-Iran group, is posting AI-made LEGO-style videos about Trump that are getting millions of views on major social platforms.
In short: A pro-Iran group called Explosive Media is using AI to make LEGO-style political videos that spread fast on social media.
Explosive Media is a group of self-described young Iranian activists that has released more than a dozen short, LEGO Movie inspired videos since the war began in February, according to WIRED. The clips mock President Donald Trump and the US, and many have reached millions of views on platforms like TikTok, X, and Instagram.
One recent video was published within hours of Trump saying he would not wipe out “a whole civilization.” It shows a LEGO-like Trump colluding with leaders from Gulf states, Iranian officials pressing a red button labeled “back to the stone age,” and Trump throwing a chair at US generals.
The group says it scripts, produces, and edits the videos using AI tools, but it did not say which ones. AI-generated video means software helps create scenes and characters, like an automatic animation studio that can quickly turn a script into a cartoon.
Researchers and critics are debating whether Explosive Media is independent or tied to the Iranian government. The group claims it is not linked to the regime, but some observers point to Iran’s limited internet access as a reason it could have official support. If more groups copy this approach, people may see more political messaging packaged as humor, which can make propaganda feel like just another meme.
