Google Cloud will add OpenAI’s GPT 6.1 models soon, and Google’s Antigravity coding tool will also get GPT support for some users.
In short: Google will offer OpenAI’s GPT 6.1 models on Google Cloud in the coming weeks, and GPT models will also be added to Google’s Antigravity coding tool.
OpenAI and Google have reached a deal to bring OpenAI’s latest GPT 6.1 models to Google Cloud. Google says the models will appear in its “Model Garden,” which is a catalog where customers can pick from many AI models (like choosing a car from a dealership lot).
The models named in the announcement are GPT 6.1 Astra, Sol, and Luna. Google says they are starting in a private preview, which means only some business customers can try them at first. Wider availability is expected in the coming weeks.
Google also says GPT models will come to Antigravity, its tool that uses AI to help with coding. Antigravity already supports Google’s Gemini models and Anthropic’s Claude. Google has not confirmed exactly which GPT 6.1 models will show up inside Antigravity.
For businesses, the OpenAI models will run on Google’s own computers in its data centers. Payments will go through the Google Cloud Marketplace, which can make it easier for companies that already spend money with Google Cloud to start using these models.
This gives companies more choice. Instead of being pushed toward one provider’s AI, they can pick the model that fits their needs, like speed, cost, or responsiveness (how quickly it answers). It could also make it simpler for teams that already use Google Cloud tools to try OpenAI’s models without changing where their work runs.
