OpenAI’s Alexander Embiricos will appear at TechCrunch Disrupt 2026 to discuss Dots, OpenAI’s new always-on AI agent, and the trust questions it raises.
In short: OpenAI’s Alexander Embiricos will speak at TechCrunch Disrupt 2026, shortly after OpenAI launched its new AI agent product called Dots.
TechCrunch said Alexander Embiricos, OpenAI’s product lead for Dots, will appear on the AI Stage at TechCrunch Disrupt 2026 in San Francisco. The event runs October 13 to 15 at Moscone West.
Dots are described as “always-on personal AI agents.” An AI agent is software that can take actions for you, not just answer questions (more like a helper who can do tasks, not just give advice).
According to TechCrunch, Dots are meant to go beyond responding to prompts. They can use their own cloud computers (computers run on the internet, not on your desk), connect to everyday apps, and keep working toward a goal in the background.
Embiricos is scheduled to discuss the product in a session titled “What Comes After the Chatbot?” TechCrunch said the conversation will focus on where personal AI agents are headed and why privacy and trust could decide whether people use them.
Tools like Dots could end up with deeper access to your digital life, including work apps and personal accounts. That can make daily tasks easier, but it also raises straightforward questions, like what the AI should be allowed to do without asking and how much sensitive information people are comfortable sharing.
