Meta released a Mac app for its Meta AI chatbot. It can read what is on your screen if you share a window, and it supports dictation in any app.
In short: Meta has released a Meta AI app for Mac that can use what is on your screen, if you choose to share a window.
Meta announced a new Mac app for Meta AI, its chatbot. The app lets you share a window from your computer with Meta AI. That means the chatbot can look at what is in that window and then answer questions, suggest changes, or help create content based on what it sees.
Think of it like showing a coworker your screen during a video call, except you are showing it to an AI tool instead. You control when and what you share.
Meta also says the Mac app supports dictation across all apps. Dictation means you can talk and the computer types your words for you. This can be useful for writing emails, notes, or messages without using the keyboard.
Along with the Mac app, Meta said Meta AI can now connect more directly with work and social tools. It can work with Instagram and Facebook accounts, Meta ad campaigns, and Google Workspace (Google’s set of tools like Gmail, Docs, and Sheets). Meta gave examples like checking how posts performed, then suggesting what to post next, and creating documents, slide decks, and spreadsheets using information from a business account and the web.
Desktop AI apps are increasingly acting like helpers that sit next to your other work. If you use a Mac, Meta’s new app makes it easier to ask for help about something already on your screen, or to speak instead of type, without switching between browser tabs.
