A report says some Christian content creators are outsourcing AI made Bible story videos to gig workers on Fiverr, feeding a growing wave of low cost clips.
In short: More Christian themed Bible story videos are being made with AI, and many creators are paying Fiverr freelancers to produce them.
A report from The Verge says it is now easy to find short, AI generated videos that retell Bible stories across TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook. These clips often look flashy but uneven, with characters and scenes that do not stay consistent from shot to shot. They are also commonly narrated by computer-like voices.
The Verge reports that some Christian content creators are not making these videos themselves. Instead, they are outsourcing the work to gig workers on Fiverr, a marketplace where you can pay freelancers for one-off jobs. Many Fiverr sellers openly advertise that they can quickly and cheaply create images and videos using “generative AI,” which is software that produces new pictures, audio, or video from written prompts (like giving instructions to a very fast, imperfect illustrator).
The videos vary in style. Some appear to borrow a look similar to Pixar-style animation and seem aimed at children, while others try to look more realistic and appear meant for older viewers. The Verge notes that these clips often focus more on big, simplified emotions like fear and anger than on accurate details from the Bible.
As these videos keep getting views, more pages may flood social platforms with similar content. It may also become harder for viewers to tell whether a channel is sharing original religious teaching, or content assembled quickly by paid freelancers using AI tools.
