Asana has acquired Stack AI, a company that helps businesses build AI agents without coding. The deal terms were not disclosed.
In short: Asana has acquired Stack AI, a company that lets businesses build AI “agents” without writing code.
Asana said it has acquired Stack AI, a workflow automation company. The announcement came Thursday after the market closed, alongside Asana’s earnings and investor call. Asana did not share the price of the deal.
Stack AI builds tools for creating AI agents, which are software helpers that can take actions for you, like a digital assistant that can also press buttons in other apps. Stack AI is designed to work inside common business tools, including Salesforce, Slack, and Google Workspace.
As part of the acquisition, Stack AI founders Tony Rosinol and Bernard Aceituno will join Asana. TechCrunch reports Stack AI raised just under $20 million in total funding, including a recent $16 million Series A round.
Asana already sells a work management product used to track tasks and projects. In recent years, it has added AI-focused features, including AI Studio, which helps people build their own automations, and AI Teammates, which are pre-built automations.
Many office workers spend time moving information between apps, updating status fields, and chasing approvals. Tools like Stack AI aim to reduce that kind of busywork by letting companies set up step-by-step processes that run across the software they already use (like creating a checklist that can also do the clicks). For Asana, the deal is also a bet that customers want AI features inside the same place where they already plan and track work.
