TechCrunch is taking nominations for Startup Battlefield 200 ahead of Disrupt 2026 in San Francisco. Deadline is May 27, with a $100,000 prize.
In short: TechCrunch is accepting nominations for its Startup Battlefield 200 competition at Disrupt 2026, with a May 27 deadline and a $100,000 equity-free prize.
TechCrunch said nominations are open for Startup Battlefield 200, a contest for early-stage startups that will take place at TechCrunch Disrupt 2026. The deadline to apply is May 27 at 11:59 PM Pacific time.
Startups that are selected get support to show their product at the event. TechCrunch says this includes free space to exhibit, four free event passes, training sessions, and chances to meet investors. Investors are people or firms that put money into startups in exchange for a future return.
During the event, startups can also get press attention and some will pitch live on the Disrupt Stage. TechCrunch says the final 20 teams will compete for $100,000 in equity-free funding, plus the Disrupt Cup. Equity-free means the startup does not have to give up ownership to get the prize (like a grant instead of selling a slice of the company).
TechCrunch Disrupt 2026 is scheduled for October 13 to 15 in San Francisco. TechCrunch says the event draws more than 10,000 founders, investors, and tech leaders.
For very small startups, getting in front of the right people can be as important as the money. TechCrunch points to past Startup Battlefield alumni, including Dropbox and Discord, and says more than 1,700 alumni companies have raised over $32 billion after taking part. The company also encourages applying early, since thousands of startups apply each year.
