Cybersecurity startup Spur Intelligence raised $200M led by Insight Partners to help companies tell real people from bots and spot risky online traffic.
In short: Spur Intelligence, a Florida cybersecurity startup, raised $200 million in new funding led by Insight Partners to improve its tools for spotting bots online.
Spur Intelligence, a cybersecurity startup based in Lake Mary, Florida, announced a $200 million funding round led by Insight Partners. Spur was founded in 2017.
The company sells software that helps large organizations tell the difference between real human visitors and automated bots. Bots are computer programs that can act like people online, like filling out forms, creating fake accounts, or trying to break into systems.
Insight Partners said the problem is getting harder because more internet traffic now comes from tools that hide where they really come from. These include VPNs (a service that can mask your location) and residential proxy networks (a way to route traffic through normal home internet connections, like using someone else’s return address).
For regular people, better bot detection can mean fewer fake accounts, less fraud, and fewer spammy or dangerous interactions on websites and apps you use every day. It can also help keep online services working smoothly when they get flooded with automated traffic. Cloudflare recently reported that, as of mid-2026, bots are now more active on the internet than humans, which helps explain why companies are spending more to separate real users from automated ones.
