Sequence raised $20 million to build AI agents that help B2B finance teams handle billing, invoices, and other revenue tasks faster.
In short: Sequence, a fintech startup founded in 2021, raised $20 million to expand AI “agents” that automate revenue and finance tasks for B2B companies.
Sequence, based in London and New York, announced a $20 million Series A funding round. The round was led by 645 Ventures, with participation from Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), Firstminute Capital, Vor Capital, Passion Capital, Dig Ventures, and several angel investors, including CFOs from Decagon, Klaviyo, and Wise.
With this round, Sequence says it has raised about $38 to $40 million in total. That includes earlier seed funding rounds of about $18 to $19 million.
Sequence builds software that uses AI agents, meaning automated helpers (like having a digital assistant that follows step by step instructions) for revenue operations in business to business finance teams. It focuses on tasks like billing and invoicing, reading contracts, recognizing revenue (recording income correctly for accounting), calculating sales commissions, spotting unusual activity, and suggesting prices. The software connects with tools businesses already use, like CRM systems (customer tracking tools) and ERP systems (software that runs core business processes).
The company says it grew its annual recurring revenue 10 times in 2025. It also says it has automated more than $1 billion in annual invoice volume and has over 100 customers, including Cognition, Incident.io, Moonpay, and Runway.
For many companies that sell to other businesses, sending invoices and handling custom pricing can be slow and error prone, especially when deals are complex. Tools like Sequence aim to reduce manual work so finance teams can close the books faster and catch mistakes earlier.
