Rocket says its new platform is meant to help people figure out what to build before they start building software. The company positions this as the step many teams skip, especially now that writing code has gotten easier with AI.
Rocket 1.0 generates product strategy documents from simple text prompts. These can include pricing ideas, basic business math like “unit economics” (how much you earn or lose per customer), and go-to-market recommendations (how to sell and deliver the product). TechCrunch tested the tool before launch and said it produced PDF documents that look more like consultant reports than a chatbot response.
The platform also offers “competitive intelligence,” which means tracking competitors and noticing changes, like updates to their websites and shifts in estimated traffic. Rocket says it pulls information from more than 1,000 sources, including Meta’s ad libraries, Similarweb’s API (a paid data feed), and its own web crawlers (software that visits pages like an automated reader).
Rocket’s plans range from $25 per month to $350 per month, depending on features. Rocket previously raised a $15 million seed round and says it has grown to over 1.5 million users across 180 countries.
Tools like this promise to make business planning cheaper and faster, similar to getting a first draft from a consultant. But TechCrunch noted some outputs appeared to be a mix of existing information, not fully verifiable new research, so users may still need to double-check before acting on the advice.
