Ray-Ban Meta AI glasses Gen 2 add Llama 4, a better camera, longer battery life, and improved audio. They are now on sale through Ray-Ban and Meta.
In short: Ray-Ban and Meta have launched the second-generation Ray-Ban Meta AI glasses with improved AI help, camera quality, battery life, and audio.
Meta and eyewear maker EssilorLuxottica have released the Gen 2 version of the Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses. The glasses work like normal Ray-Bans, but they also take photos and video, play audio through open-ear speakers, and let you talk to Meta AI.
A key change is deeper Meta AI integration using Llama 4, which is Meta’s latest large language model (a system that writes and talks in natural sentences, like a very advanced autocomplete). Meta says you can ask for suggestions and quick answers, get reminders like where you parked, and get information about landmarks. The glasses also support live translation in 6 or more languages, including in some cases without Wi-Fi.
Gen 2 also upgrades the camera with 3K video and modes like slow motion and hyperlapse. You can share to Instagram and Facebook, and manage the glasses through the Meta AI app. The app is also used for setup and for moving photos and videos to your phone.
The company says battery life is better than Gen 1, and audio is more immersive. The glasses are available through Ray-Ban, the Meta Store, and retailers including Sunglass Hut.
For shoppers, this is a clearer “what you see and hear” upgrade rather than a whole new category. Gen 2 improves everyday things like video quality, translation, and battery life. People who only want the basic experience may still find Gen 1 good enough, and likely cheaper.
