She pushed for “multi-product adoption,” meaning customers use more than one OpenAI product. She also said OpenAI should act more like a “platform company,” meaning a set of connected tools that work together, rather than separate products.
The memo also discussed competition with Anthropic, a major AI rival. Dresser said Anthropic’s focus on coding helped it gain early momentum. The memo also criticized Anthropic, including accusing it of overstating its revenue pace and calling it a mistake to not secure enough “compute” (the computer power needed to run and train AI systems).
