OpenAI will integrate its AI tools, including the Codex coding assistant, into Infosys Topaz to help business clients update software and automate work.
In short: OpenAI is partnering with Infosys so more large companies can use OpenAI tools, including its Codex coding assistant, through Infosys’ Topaz platform.
OpenAI said it will integrate several of its artificial intelligence tools into Infosys Topaz, which is Infosys’ in-house set of AI services for business customers. One of the tools mentioned is Codex, a coding assistant (like an autocomplete helper for software developers, but more powerful).
Infosys said the combined setup will help its clients modernize how they build and maintain software, automate routine steps in day to day work, and roll out AI systems across an organization. The companies said they will start with software engineering, updating older systems (often called legacy modernization), and DevOps, which is the work of keeping software running smoothly after it is built.
The financial terms were not shared. The partnership gives OpenAI a path into large companies through Infosys, which delivers IT services in more than 60 countries.
Many big companies want to use AI, but getting from a small trial to something that works across thousands of employees is hard. It is a bit like testing one new checkout lane in a store versus changing every checkout lane in every location. By working with a large IT services firm like Infosys, OpenAI can reach more business customers, and Infosys can offer newer AI tools as it faces pressure from clients spending less and from AI taking over parts of traditional outsourcing work.
