OpenAI introduced a $100 a month ChatGPT plan aimed at people who use Codex, its coding helper, filling the gap between $20 Plus and $200 Pro.
In short: OpenAI has introduced a new $100 per month ChatGPT plan, aimed at people who use its Codex coding tool a lot.
OpenAI announced a new subscription tier priced at $100 per month. It sits between the existing $20 per month Plus plan and a $200 per month plan that OpenAI confirmed is still available, even though it is not currently listed on ChatGPT’s pricing page.
The company says the $100 plan and the $20 Plus plan are meant to support regular use of Codex. Codex is ChatGPT’s coding tool, meaning it helps people write and edit software code (like a spellchecker, but for programming). OpenAI says the $100 plan includes about five times more Codex usage than Plus.
OpenAI also said it will offer higher Codex limits on the $100 plan through May 31. After that, people may hit usage warnings more often. OpenAI says none of its plans offer unlimited use, but the $200 plan has much higher limits, about 20 times the Plus plan.
OpenAI positioned the new $100 tier as a response to Anthropic, a competitor that offers a similar $100 per month option for its Claude product.
If you use AI tools to help with coding, price and usage limits can shape what you can get done in a day. This new $100 plan gives heavy users another option that is not as expensive as $200, but is designed for more work than the $20 plan.
