Meta has released Style Sketch, a fashion app that builds a digital closet from Instagram photos and suggests outfits. It is live in Indonesia, Singapore, and Thailand.
In short: Meta has quietly launched Style Sketch, an app that uses AI to suggest outfits from clothes you already own.
Meta released a new fashion app called Style Sketch. The app is designed to help people plan outfits using items from their own wardrobe.
Style Sketch can connect to Instagram and build a “virtual closet” from photos you have already posted. Think of it like a digital wardrobe organizer that tries to recognize what you have worn before. If you do not want to connect Instagram, you can add items yourself by taking a photo, recording a short video, or uploading pictures from your phone.
After your closet is set up, the app suggests outfit combinations that match your style. It also includes virtual try-ons, meaning it shows the outfits on a model that the app says is matched to your body shape and skin tone.
The app is available on iOS and Android in Indonesia, Singapore, and Thailand. TechCrunch reports that Meta did not respond to a request for comment, and it is not clear if or when the app will launch in more countries.
Style Sketch was first spotted by social media consultant Matt Navarra. His post also mentioned features like weather-based outfit suggestions and help with packing for trips.
Apps that suggest outfits are not new, but Meta may have an advantage because many people already have years of outfit photos on Instagram. For users, that could make setup faster, like starting with a closet that is already partly inventoried.
