Meta is launching low-cost Plus subscriptions worldwide and testing new Meta One plans, including paid options for Meta AI, creators, and businesses.
In short: Meta is rolling out new paid “Plus” subscriptions for Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp worldwide, and it will also test more paid plans under a new name, Meta One.
Meta said users can now pay a monthly fee for extra features inside Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp. The prices listed were $3.99 per month for Instagram Plus and Facebook Plus, and $2.99 per month for WhatsApp Plus.
These “Plus” plans add small upgrades. Meta highlighted things like profile customization, “super reactions” (bigger, animated reactions), and more detail about how Stories perform. WhatsApp Plus focuses more on personalization, like themes, custom ringtones, extra pinned chats, and stickers.
Meta also said these new Plus plans do not replace Meta Verified, its existing paid plan that focuses on proving an account is real and reducing impersonation. Think of Verified like an ID check and support line, while Plus is more like extra options and add-ons.
At the same time, Meta will begin testing additional subscriptions under the “Meta One” brand. This includes paid plans for Meta AI, Meta’s chatbot (a chat assistant you can talk to, like customer support chat, but automated). Meta One AI tests start next month in Singapore, Guatemala, and Bolivia, starting at $7.99 per month and going up to $19.99 per month.
Meta will also test creator and business plans in some countries, with prices listed at $14.99 and $49.99 per month.
This is a clear push to get more revenue from subscriptions, not just ads. For regular users, it could mean more features are placed behind paywalls. For creators and small businesses, it could also make it easier, or more expensive, to reach people on Meta’s apps.
