Meta says AI tools for businesses on its messaging apps now help with about 10 million conversations a week, up from 1 million earlier this year.
In short: Meta says AI features for businesses on its messaging apps now help run about 10 million conversations per week.
Meta said on its first-quarter earnings call that its business AI tools were facilitating around 10 million conversations a week as of late March. That is up from about 1 million a week at the start of 2026.
These tools are meant to help small businesses chat with customers on Meta’s messaging apps. You can think of it like an auto helper that can answer common questions, suggest replies, and keep a conversation moving when a human is busy.
Meta said it recently expanded a test version of its business AI assistant to more places and languages, including the U.S., Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Asia-Pacific, and Latin America.
Meta also shared new numbers about its AI tools for making ads. The company said more than 8 million advertisers have used at least one of its “GenAI” ad creative tools. GenAI is short for “generative AI,” which is software that can create things like text, images, or videos (like a writing and design assistant).
Right now, Meta says these business AI tools are mostly free, but CEO Mark Zuckerberg said the company expects to work toward a long-term way to charge for them. Meta also said it is launching an open beta for “Meta Ads AI Connectors,” which would let advertisers connect their Meta ad account to an AI agent (a software helper that can take actions for you). If Meta starts charging, small businesses will need to decide if the time saved is worth the cost.
