Lucid Bots reports rising demand for its cleaning drones and robots

Lucid Bots, a robotics company founded in 2018 in Charlotte, North Carolina, says demand has accelerated over the past year for its window cleaning drones and power washing robots. The company says it closed 175 equipment deals in 2025 totaling $9.7 million. As of 2026, it reports $20.6 million in cumulative revenue from 523 deals.

Its main product is the Sherpa, a drone used for commercial building cleaning. Lucid Bots says Sherpa is the most widely deployed commercial cleaning drone in North America, with more than 400 active operators across over 40 states. The company says operators have generated more than $75 million in revenue by offering drone cleaning services.

The pitch is safety and speed. Sherpa can work up to 160 feet high and is connected by a power tether (like a long cord) so it can run longer than a typical battery drone. Lucid Bots also points to features like collision avoidance and “Distance Lock,” which helps keep the spray at a consistent distance from the surface, like using a guide so you do not press too hard or too lightly.

Lucid Bots says customers are using the same system for window cleaning and power washing, and it has recently expanded into painting through a modular add-on. It also sells a ground-based power washing robot called Lavo.

What to watch

More demand may come from large facilities such as warehouses and data centers, where cleaning high walls can be slow and dangerous. Another open question is how widely drone painting will be adopted, since painting has stricter quality and safety requirements than washing.
