Halliday previewed its Gen 2 smart glasses, aiming to fix comfort and visibility problems from the first version with an easier-to-see display.
In short: Halliday has shown a second version of its smart glasses, and early impressions say the display is easier to see and more comfortable than the first model.
Halliday first demonstrated its original smart glasses at CES 2025, a large yearly tech trade show in Las Vegas. In that first version, the glasses had a very small display inside the frame, like a tiny floating screen you had to line up with your eye.
According to hands-on impressions shared by The Verge, that early design could be hard to use. The display window was described as finicky to look through, and even a short demo could leave the reviewer with eye strain.
Halliday is now showing its Gen 2 glasses, and the main message is that the company has improved the experience. The Verge report says the second generation is better than the original, suggesting Halliday focused on making the screen easier to view and reducing discomfort.
Smart glasses are trying to give people quick information without taking out a phone, similar to having a small set of notes that only you can see. But if the display is hard to find with your eye or causes headaches, it stops being useful fast. If Halliday can make the basics, comfort and visibility, work well, it could make this kind of wearable easier for regular people to actually use.
