A new Gemini beta can do multi-step tasks like ordering food or booking rides on some new Pixel 10 and Galaxy S26 phones in the US and Korea.
In short: Google and Samsung are rolling out a beta feature that lets Gemini handle some app tasks for you on select new phones.
Google and Samsung announced a beta feature for Gemini that can complete multi-step actions, like reordering food delivery or booking a ride. It was shared during Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked event.
On supported phones, you start the feature by long-pressing the side or power button and speaking a request. Examples include “book a ride home” or “reorder my last DoorDash meal.”
Google says Gemini does this work inside a “secure virtual window” (like a separate, locked room where the AI can only see what it needs for the task). It can use only certain apps, including DoorDash, Uber, Lyft, Instacart, Starbucks, Grubhub, McDonald’s, and Uber Eats. In Korea, it also supports Baemin and Kakao T. The tasks can run in the background, and you get real-time notifications so you can watch, step in, or stop it.
Many people want a phone assistant that can actually get things done, not just answer questions. This beta is a step toward that, but it is limited for now. It is only coming soon to the US and Korea, only on Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, and the Samsung Galaxy S26 series, and it focuses on food, groceries, and rides.
