Google’s new Pixel 10 ads tease iPhone AI delays and copying claims

Google released new Pixel 10 ads that poke at Apple’s delayed AI features and suggest iPhone features mirror Pixel tools like call screening and photo edits.

About 3 hours ago•Trending & Viral

In short: Google has released new Pixel 10 ads that mock Apple’s slower rollout of some AI features and suggest the iPhone is copying Pixel ideas.

What happened

Google published multiple new videos in its ongoing “Best Phones Forever” ad series. The ads show an animated Pixel 10 Pro and an iPhone chatting like friends, but the jokes are aimed at Apple.

Several spots compare Pixel features with features Apple has talked about for future iPhones and iOS updates. Google points to Pixel tools such as call screening (the phone answers unknown calls for you), live translation (it turns one language into another), hold assist (it waits on hold for you), and AI photo editing (automatic changes to photos).

One ad includes the iPhone character saying it was “inspired” by Pixel features like call screening and photo tools. Another spot takes a direct shot at Apple’s delayed “Apple Intelligence” Siri upgrades. Siri is Apple’s built-in voice helper, like a digital receptionist on your phone. The narrator says if you buy a phone for a feature that is “coming soon” and it keeps slipping, you could “change your definition of soon” or “change your phone.”

The Verge also points to a separate Pixel ad called “With 100x Zoom,” which it says may come across awkwardly. The ad suggests someone should mislead friends about a vacation view after a rental listing misled them.

Why it matters

Phone makers are now selling “AI” features as a big reason to upgrade, even when some features are delayed or not available yet. Ads like these can influence what people expect a new phone to do right away, versus what might arrive months later in an update.
