Mozilla updated Firefox Smart Window with AI that can suggest text for online forms using your open tabs and can watch pages for changes like sales or jobs.
In short: Mozilla has updated Firefox Smart Window so it can suggest text for online forms using your open tabs, and it can watch webpages for changes.
Mozilla is updating Smart Window, a feature in Firefox that adds a built-in AI helper. The new update includes “smart form fill,” which can pull details from pages you already have open and suggest what to type into an online form.
Mozilla says this can help with things like job applications. For example, if you have your online portfolio or LinkedIn open, Smart Window can use that information to suggest your work history for a form.
To try it, you click into a web form that has at least four text boxes. Firefox will show a “Fill from sources” option, and it will list the tabs it plans to use. You can choose which tabs to include, or remove any you do not want.
Mozilla also says information from those source pages is shared with Google’s Gemini 3.1 Flash Lite, the AI model (the “brain” that writes the suggestions) that produces the text.
Along with form filling, Smart Window can now “watch” a webpage for updates, such as a price drop, a new job listing, or other changes. You type “/watch” in Smart Window, describe what you want, and add the pages. Firefox checks daily or weekly, but only while the browser is open, and it notifies you when it finds the change.
These features can save time on repetitive tasks, like copying details into forms or checking the same page again and again (like having a helper who reads your open pages and drafts a first pass). At the same time, the form feature involves sharing data with an outside AI service, so some people may want to be careful about which tabs they allow it to use.
