Deezer says over half of daily music uploads are AI-generated

Deezer, a music streaming service, said the amount of AI-generated music being uploaded to its platform keeps rising. In June 2026, Deezer said it saw an average of about 90,000 AI-generated tracks uploaded per day. The company now says AI music is more than 50% of daily uploads.

AI-generated music means songs made by software that can create audio on its own after being trained on lots of existing music. You can think of it like a very fast music-making machine that can produce endless new tracks.

Deezer has shared a timeline showing how quickly this grew. It said AI uploads were around 10,000 tracks per day in January 2025, or about 10% of daily uploads. It later reported 44% in April 2026, before crossing the 50% mark this month.

Streaming services are responding in different ways. TechCrunch noted that Bandcamp has banned AI-generated tracks, and Tidal has stopped paying out money for them. Other services have focused on labeling, which is like putting an ingredient list on a food package so listeners know what they are getting.

What to watch

Deezer said it will remove some AI-generated tracks, including ones that have not been played in the past six months, and ones tied to fraudulent streaming meant to boost payouts. This matters because if platforms get flooded with low-listened or fake-listened tracks, it can make it harder for real artists to be found and paid.
