Generated Assets is an AI-driven feature inside the Public investing platform for retail investors who want to turn an investing idea into a custom, investable stock index.

Key capabilities include:

• Natural-language index creation: enter a prompt (from thematic ideas to objective screening criteria) and the system generates an index, typically in about 30 seconds for 10 to 15 stocks.
• AI screening with explainability: a multi-agent evaluation process researches and screens thousands of stocks using public financial data, then provides transparent reasoning for why each holding fits the prompt.
• Backtesting and benchmarking: run hypothetical backtests and compare performance to benchmarks such as the S&P 500 (and Nasdaq-100 per the research brief), with analytics like historical returns, diversification, stability, and maximum drawdowns.
• Customization and investing: refine holdings with follow-up prompts (including weighting adjustments and ticker removal), track performance, then invest in the resulting index alongside other Public holdings. Users can also explore and share indexes via Public’s discovery hub/leaderboard.
