Lovable says it passed $500M in annualized revenue and users now create about 1 million new projects a week, many by non-technical people.
In short: Lovable says it has passed $500 million in annualized revenue and its users are now creating about 1 million new projects each week.
Lovable, a European startup that helps people build software with AI, told TechCrunch it has surpassed $500 million in annualized run-rate revenue. Annualized run-rate is a simple estimate, it takes what the company is earning now and projects it over a full year.
The company last shared numbers in February, when it said it had crossed $400 million. Lovable was founded in late 2023, and it says people have used it to build more than 50 million projects so far, with activity now running at about 1 million new projects per week.
Lovable also points to a survey it published on its own blog. It says many users are not software engineers, but are still building things they plan to sell or use at work. The company says users include founders, designers, and salespeople building websites and online stores, plus internal business tools like CRMs (customer lists and sales tracking), inventory systems, and HR tools.
If these numbers hold up, it suggests more people are trying to build their own business software instead of buying it from traditional vendors. It is like choosing to assemble your own shelving instead of buying a finished unit, the upfront work can be cheaper, but you are also responsible for fixing it when something breaks. A key open question is whether these AI-built tools will be maintained over time, since software often needs ongoing updates to keep working.
